Who is the Peg Perego John Deere Ground Force Tractor For?

If you are looking for a durable off roading, on grass, through, mud, and even pools of water, then the John Deere Ground Force Tractor is for you….trust me, it’s been tested thoroughly. ย See below:

If you are looking for a rough and tough, play hard, kind of electric car for kids, then the John Deere Ground Force Tractor is for you.

How tough you might ask? ย One of our across the street neighbors have two boys, ages 7 & 11, that weigh between 75lbs-95bls., and they, along with my son, have been riding the tractor 3-5 days a week for almost a year, and the tractor keeps going and going!

My across the street neighbors also have a girl, age 6, and sheย loves riding that tractor just as much as those boys do. ย So whether you have a girl or a boy, it doesn’t matter, as long as you are looking for rough and tough and tons of fun, then the John Deere Ground Force Tractor is definitely for you.

Tell Me About Peg Perego’s Customer Support

Peg Perego’s customer support is truly fantastic. ย I had to give their customer support a call because I had just finished charging the battery and wanted to make sure it was working properly and the tractor didn’t move.

I called the technical support line provided in the Assembly Guide Intructions, and within one minute of the call I was already talking to someone. ย As soon as I explained what was happening the customer service rep knew right away what the challenge was. ย One of the motor wires wasn’t connected( I had missed a step in the assembly process! lol).

She guided me through connecting the wire and the tractor started working immediately. ย That was almost a year ago, and I have not had to reconnect the wire or had any other challenges with any wires or the battery since then! ย I was very happy and impressed to say the least. ๐Ÿ™‚

In Conclusion

My whole family and the entire neighborhood continue to be pleased with how much fun AND value the Peg Perego John Deere Ground Force Tractor provides.

If you are looking for rough and tough, durable, long lasting, quality product, that will provide years of fun then the this John Deere Tractor is for you and your family. ย We were so happy about our purchase, a month later we bought the Peg Perego John Deere Front Loader! ย I know I will continue to buy the Peg Perego brand for years to come! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. John

    Jason,
The John Deere tractor seems like a great tool to teach the young kids how to get around. My ten year old just got rid of his third electric powered mini vehicle. His last was a powered four wheeler that could go almost any where. We sold them in the yard sell to neighbors and he can see the little ones around us learn how to drive. Some of these are on the original battery and are several years old. They do not seem to ever wear out. The tires wear out first if you run them on the concrete driveways.
    John

    • Jason

John, I love that yall can continue to see those electric cars for kids continue to provide fun to others in your neighborhood, that is AWESOME! ๐Ÿ™‚

Also I couldn’t agree with you more, as far as the vehicles being durable and lasting a long time. There are many companies that manufacture/sell electric cars for kids, but it is important that you choose the Top Brands if you want your investment to last, just as you describe above.

I have found that the Peg Perego brand and the Power Wheels brand have been the most durable thus far, have great warranties and provide easy to find replacment parts, should they wear out, so that you can get those vehicles fixed up and running for more years to come….and yes, batteries that last forever! ๐Ÿ™‚

      Thx for sharing your experience.

      To Family and Fun,

  2. netp

This looks fantastic – I have two boys and I know they’d love it. I like the fact that it comes with a radio!! This is the first electric car I’ve been looking seriously at – particularly a tractor because I know that’s something my son would love. Thanks for the info, I will have to have a think about getting one!

    • Jason

I here you with the tractor. My son loves them and that is why we decided to get a tractor versus other styles out there. We have owned it for a year now, and after him driving that thing for hours, literally 3-4 days a week, it continues to work great!

That is why I love the Peg Perego brand because they really do provide a durable, quality product. If you do decide to buy one, please come back to my site and click on any one of the pictures and you will be taken to amazon. All, and I mean all of the profits made from this site, help to pay for my son, Connor’s school, which is specifically designed to help kids with down syndrome, get into mainstream education.

Thanks for commenting and thanks for coming back when you are ready to purchase! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. TrinaC46

It sounds like lots of fun, and very durable. Kids sure can be rough on things, so that is very good to know. Thank you for adding the weight limits and review statistics .Customer support sounds great which is very important nowadays. The only question is where do you buy it? Do you go to Peg Perego website, or can you purchase it from other places like Amazon or Ebay or other store like Wal-Mart or K-Mart?

    • Jason

Trina, I am so sorry. My links to amazon were not connected. My apologies. My advice is buying them from amazon. They continue to have the best price. You can now click on any of the John Deere Tractor Pictures and you will be taken to the exact page on amazon to order them.

You are defnitely right about customer service, and when it comes to that, the Peg Perego brand is top of the line. You can click here to read my full review on why I love Peg Perego.

Thx for commenting and best wishes.

  4. Mandy

I always read reviews before I purchase. This review was very informative and helped make my decision to purchase.

    • Jason

I couldn’t agree with you more Mandy. I can’t tell you how many reviews I read before making my purchase as well, no matter what the item is. And we are not alone. In an article published by Best Online Marketing System called “How to Write a Product Review,” in the second or third paragraph, it states that 90% of consumers make buying decisions based on product reviews. And it is because these reviews are coming straight from the consumer.

I know there are some sites out there that are biased on the way they review their products, but here at Go Electric Cars For Kids, we are gonna tell you exactly how it is. If it’s bad, we will tell you, and if it’s good, we will tell you, and give our supporting reasons why, so you can make an informed decision.

I glad this review helped in your decision making process and please spread the word to others about us as well.

      To Family & Fun,

  5. Amber

Great review. My son is not quite big enough for one yet, but my husband and I have talked about which motorized vehicle we would get once he is big enough and this looks like a great buy!

    • Jason

You are definitely right in regards to the recommended age for the tractor. We bought the Peg Perego Tractor for my oldest son for his 3rd birthday and it did take him a little bit, a week or two, to finally get really comfortable with it.

If your son is at least 2 years old then I would recommend the RollPlay Mini Cooper. It’s only a 6v, which makes it less aggressive than the John Deere Tractors and instead of a straddle type seat, it has more of the typical bucket seats and doors that don’t open, so it keeps your kid safely inside.

When he is old enough and you decide to buy one, please come back and let us know which one you purchased and what your experience was with it.

      To Family & Fun,
      Jason, Mandy, Hunter, & Connor

  6. Rora

My grandchildren have these tractors and they love them!

    • Jason

Rora, I love that they love them….my kids, as well as the rest of the neighborhood really have a blast with them. Thx for sharing your experience with them.

      To Family & Fun,
      Jason, Mandy, Hunter & Connor

  7. Mike Haisten

I never had one of these growing up, but my next door neighbor buddy did. Even though we weren’t great friends, I would make it a point to hang out with him on a regular basis so I could drive his hot wheels as much as i could do it was like I had my own! I recommend this for any child between the ages of 2-7ish. It helps a child learn how to drive, and become coordinated in operating machinery!
    -mike

    • Jason

LOL, I hear you Mike! ๐Ÿ™‚ I wanted one of those Big Foot Power Wheels growing up, and then one day we got one at a garage sell, or something. It was used up quite a bit but I still loved it. Even though it only lasted a short time, I had a blast! ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t blame you for going over your friends house, not one bit. Well when ever you’re ready to make a person for you and your family, please make sure and come on back through my site, it is greatly appreciated and all profits go to help pay for my son’s school tuition, Connor, which specializes in Down Syndrome.

      Thx again for commenting.

  8. Todd

Love the mobility of this electric tractor through low lying water areas and can handle towing in hurricane force winds. No need for a helmet either as it is slow and steady but man does it do some great work hauling the leaves after all the leaves have fell off my tree and my 20 neighbors as they also come over and borrow it but I have told them repeatedly that they need go buy their own. Definitely an A+ item that every kid and parent needs to do some quality lawn work and to have a great time in!

    • Jason

Todd, I am with you for sure. It is not only great fun, but you can teach your kids at a young age to help out with the yard work and make it fun for them at the same time!

And I hear you on the neighbors lol…ours come over all the time and ask to play with Hunter and Connor, my sons, and of course they all take turns riding the 3 different electric cars we have. We even have one with a remote control. It is made by Moderno Kids and is a Jeep Wrangler….pretty cool.

      Thx for commenting.

      To Family & Fun,
      Jason, Mandy, Hunter & Connor

  9. Man these things are awesome! My son is currently a little younger than the recommended age but I have a good friend of mine that has a tractor exactly like the one in your video and it is incredible. The hardest part for me was not knocking him off and jumping on myself…ok, maybe we took turns! It was actually a little scary the first time out…we had the thing in high gear and let me tell you…that bad boy took off!! Seriously, these Peg Perego’s are fantastic!

    • Jason

LOL, I love your story Jan-Michael, and thx so much for commenting. I completely understand. I love them so much I am currently searching for an electric car for kids….but for adults! lol

I think I have found one that could hold some adults. It is also by Peg Perego. It is 24 volts and can hold up to 150lbs! I’m really wanting to buy it soon….maybe for Xmas this year! ๐Ÿ™‚

      Thx again for commenting.

  10. angelicamaney

I have a little cousin that loves John Deere and tractors. This would be a great idea for him! I should pass your article here on to his parents. And it has an AM/FM radio? These electric cars have come a long way since I was a kid! Very cool!

    • Jason

Trust me, with having two boys and half the neighborhood coming over to play with the John Deere tractor, it is definitely an awesome toy for him and a great value for the parents. Even if a couple people have to pitch in to buy it for him, you can tell him it is from all of y’all.

That is what we did for 2 of the 5 we have owned. We bought them for either their birthdays or for xmas and everyone pitched in a little. One year later, the John Deere Ground Force Tractor is still going strong. That is what I love about the Peg Perego brand, they are built, quality, built durable, built strong! ๐Ÿ™‚

Please do share this site to his parents…..and YES it does have an FM/AM radio. How cool is that!? ๐Ÿ™‚

      To Family & Fun,

      Jason, Mandy, Hunter, & Connor

  11. Donnie

Love it! I want 1 for myself!!

    • Jason

I hear you Donnie! ๐Ÿ™‚ I am looking for an electric car that holds up to at least 150lbs. I have found one made by Peg Perego that I am seriously considering buying so that I can ride around with my kids as well…..now truth be told, I weigh around 175lbs, but what I have found is that these elecetirc cars for kids can usually hold 20-40lbs more than the recommended weight, no problem.

I’m sure it gives it a little more wear and tear, but man is it worth it!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

      Thx for commenting.

      To Family & Fun,
      Jason, Mandy, Hunter, & Connor

  12. Eric

Dang!!! Muding in a John Deere, listening to talk radio on the am! Does it have a cup holder? Can it pull a deer carcass? Kids these days have it all. Seriously though, awesome and informative review. Glad I discovered this site in time for the holidays!

    • Jason

Lol, I love your comment and enthusiasm Eric! ๐Ÿ™‚ It really is an awesome Ride on Toy for sure! Peg Perego really makes a quality, durable toy, which is why they are #1 in my opinion when it comes to Ride on Toys, even over Power Wheels…..although, Power Wheels are a very close second! ๐Ÿ™‚

      Thx for commenting.

  13. Toni Pehl

This is great and super cool for the little ones! Can I share the website on FB?

    • Jason

This gift will definitely award you as the best Mom, Aunt, or sister award for sure Toni! ๐Ÿ™‚ Yes please do share this article with all your FB friends. Any proceeds we earn from our website goes to help pay for our youngest son’s school, that specializes for kids with down syndrome called The Rise School of Houston.

Thx for commenting and thx for sharing.

  14. Jenny Siers

Thanks for the info. This tractor looks like a great buy, and hours of fun. If we hadn’t already purchased another ride-on toy, we would definitely look into this one. I will recommend this site and product to other friends with little ones.

    • Jason

No problem Jenny. I am glad to hear that you did already purchase a Ride on Toy for your kid. I know your whole family will enjoy it! ๐Ÿ™‚

And yes, please do share our site with your freinds and family, it is greatly appreciated.

      To Family & Fun,
      Jason, Mandy, Hunter & Connor

  15. Chuck Land

This looks so awesome. My little guy would have loved something like this! Heck, I want one for myself. Do they come in an XL size?

    • Jason

Chuck, first of all, I know your little guy would love the Peg Perego John Deere Ground Force Tractor with Trailer! I have yet to meet a kid, boy or girl, that didn’t! lol ๐Ÿ™‚

Second, I know exactly how you feel, as far as wanting one for yourself!!! lol After seeing my kids ride them over and over again, having so much fun, I wanted and still want to do it with them, alongside them! ๐Ÿ™‚

I have found a couple of electric cars for kids that are 24v! That’s right, 24v! Now although the manufacturer’s weight limit for most of these is 150lbs, through experience, can usually hold another 20-30lbs+.(Please do this at your own risk)

I look forward to buying one soon and reporting back.

Thx for commenting Chuck, I hope you find the right one for your kid.

      To Family & Fun,

  16. Kaylon

Looks like the perfect vehicle for your sweet boys. If we are in the market for something new for ours will keep this in mind.

    • Jason

It definitely is the perfect toy for our boys, that’s for sure. When it comes time to buy something new for your boys you should also take a look at the Peg Perego John Deere Ground Loader, depending on what you are looking for, it can be an alternate option.

      To Family & Fun,
      Jason, Mandy, Hunter & Connor

  17. RuthM

This toy looks awesome! We have something which is nowhere near as powerful that the kids have been playing with in the house in the winter. But come the summer I know it won’t run so well on the grass.

This looks like just the ticket. They would LOVE this.! I’m definitely going to take a look!

    • Jason

Yeah, that we love so much about the Peg Perego brand. They usually come with a 12v battery, which provides more power, but they will still have a first and second gear. So if you need to start off a little slower at the beginning to get a hang of it, you can, and when your kids are ready, they can put it into second gear. Can’t wait to hear about all the fun stories you will have when you get one for your kiddos! ๐Ÿ™‚

      To Family & Fun,

      Jason, Mandy, Hunter, & Connor

  18. Adam

Awh, this is exactly what I was looking for!

My son will turn 5 next week. I was looking for some original surprise idea and I’ve found your article on the little John Deere. At the very best moment!

He is begging me all the time to let him “drive” our SUV on my lap. I think he would be VERY happy with a tractor like that!

Not to say that it was my dream when I was a child. Two flies in one hit!

I see you have most trouble with the trailer. Do you think using it is worth it? I guess my son will find it out himself.

    Thanks you for the inspiration!

    Adam

    • Jason

So glad this article has helped you with a great gift idea for your son! ๐Ÿ™‚ As far as the trailer, it’s fine if you just carry about 20 lbs or less in it. It is not really meant to carry more than that. The challenge we have, is that all neighborhood kids come over and chase each other….I’m not gonna lie, they are a little rough with the tractor and trailer. The tractor can take it, but the trailer can’t. Again, if it’s just him and he is using it just to haul some small toys or branches around, no problem, it works great then! ๐Ÿ™‚

      To Family & Fun,

      Jason, Mandy, Hunter, & Connor

  19. Kris

Wow that looks so fun! My kids would love it. How much does it cost? How many kids can it carry at once? My sister has got the little John Deere Jeep which has a couple of seats but this tractor looks a lot tougher than that. Thanks for the review! Might have to start saving for Christmas!
    Kris

    • Jason

The best time to buy these John Deere tractors or any electric car for kids is when they go on sale. This will usually happen during holidays like, Memorial Day, Labor Day, July 4th, and Christmas, but the best times are of course, the day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday.

Both the Peg Perego John Deere Ground Force Tractor With Trailer and the Peg Perego John Deere Ground Loader Ride On can only fit one child each. Although they both can come with a trailer, the trailer is only intended to carry about 20lbs. Yes, you could put a small kid in their, but I wouldn’t advise it because it can tip over very easily.

Now the The Peg Perego John Deere Gator is designed to carry 2 kids up front and up to 130lbs, and even the bed can carry up to 60lbs, which can allow you to fit another smaller kid as well.

I have a two boys, a 2 1/2 and a 4 1/2 year old. My 2 1/2 has a disability and cannot drive a tractor all by himself yet, so the John Deere Gator is perfect for my boys because my oldest can drive him youngest around and it allows them to both have fun at the same time.

Out of all our toys, my boys continue to play with these electric cars more than anything else they own…it’s worth the investment! ๐Ÿ™‚

      To Family & Fun,

A agree the John Deere tractor is a great tool to teach the young kids how it is important to help around the house and also teaches them motor skills.. My 8 grandkids loved their electric powered mini vehicle. The last one they had was a powered four wheeler that would go almost any where except in the grass was little rough. Some times the original battery run out pretty quick and needs to be replaced often. The tires wears out first if you run them on the concrete driveway but I am ready to get my littlest grandsons one which they are 4yr, 2yr and 15 months but they have 4 wheelers but I would love to get another John Deere. I really enjoyed your site I would like see some other types of John Deere options that area out there and more pictures. But you have a great site.
    Have a great day

    • Jason

I am glad to hear that your 8 grandkids have all enjoyed the electric cars. They really are a blast…not only for the kids, but I love to watch my sons have so much fun on them.

In regards to the battery, I have had my John Deere Tractors for almost 2 years now and the batteries still last the amount of time indicated on the manufacturer’s label: from 45min-2 hours depending on how difficult the terrain is. My boys generally ride theirs on thick, but usually, recently mowed grass, and their batteries last around an hour to an hour and a half. I always recommend buying from the top name brands like Peg Perego and Power Wheels because they are made to last…and if they don’t they have a great warranty!

Also, what I like about buying large, reputable, companies is that it is easy to find replacable parts. I just bought two more rear tires for my John Deere Ground Loader. They almost last 2 years, after being used 3-4 times a week…and the cost with shipping and handling, only $50. It now works like a new tractor again!

      To Family & Fun,
      Jason, Mandy, Hunter & Connor

  21. Bonnie

My son would love this!! He is a typical boy, anything that moves and anything to do with the mud and this combines the 2! I appreciate your honest review of the product. My son is rough with his toys so the fact that this stood up to your kid test is awesome! This just may be his birthday gift in November!

    • Jason

It has definitely stood the tough and sturdy kids test. We are coming up on a full 2 years having it, and they are still going. The only thing I have had to replace is 1 real wheel tire, which only cost $16!

And one of the best times to buy them is right after thanksgiving, during a black friday sale.
